A good solid read. I thought it would be a continuation of the story of the same main character (Jack) from the first book (The Warrior Heir). However, this is the story of an entirely different teen, with his story meeting up with Jack's about half way through the book. A bit predictable in the plot twists (to me, not necessarily to YA readers), but engrossing and kept me reading till the wee hours until I was done with the book. Well-played action scenes, and likeable characters combine to 'keep it real', at least as much as a fantasy with wizards, enchanters and magic set in modern-day Toronto/Maine/Ohio can be.
