Seeford's Spot

Reader, not a writer, and like to keep it that way - I'd rather be reading!
Dead in the Family - Charlaine Harris Another good installment in the Sookie Stackhouse series, this one seemed a bit forced (too many uses of word-of-the-day to seem totally in character.) I did like all the character growth we're seeing - of Sookie, Sam, Jason, and in relationships with Claude, Eric, Bill, Tara, Hunter and Pam. I'm sure that the information we've gotten now about relationships with Makers and the political structure of the vampires in the New World, as well as the US-policy considering whether to make shifters 'register' as vampires have had to do will all play parts in future books.
However, I found myself 20 pages from the end, wondering how the author was going to wrap up all the plot threads without rushing - and she just barely succeeded. Overall a good installment in the series, hopefully it won't be too long until the next one comes out, because there are still a lot of issues outstanding. I'm looking forward to more Sookie!
